Kallpa Thermal Power Plant, Chilca - Lima, Peru

Optimal solutions for pioneering projects
It is a pioneer power station in Peru, as it is the first one which works with natural gas.

Description

It is a pioneer power station in Peru, as it is the first one which works with natural gas. This project regarded the change of the previous power station to a combined-cycle station and to increase the power capacity of 536 to 850 MW.

The following different jobs were undertaken: 3 Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG), a new steam turbine of 300 MW, 2 water tanks and a desalination plant with a 5 km long conduct.

ULMA Solution

The turbine building constituted the most complex structure of the project, where columns and beams were formed with NEVI vertical formwork. Moreover, BRIO Shoring was used to support the cambered beams at 12 m height. The formwork used was ENKOFORM HMK.

NEVI formwork was selected for the foundations due to its good finishing and the reduced number of parts.

COMAIN vertical formwork in its circular version was used for the foundations of the water tanks.

The versatility and safety of the BRIO scaffolding suited the electromechanical assembly of the structures.
