Metro Line 2, Brazil

Effective response to the project's technical needs
This is the construction of a metro station in a tunnel, requiring and very short project turnaround time.

Description

This is the construction of a metro station in a tunnel, requiring and very short project turnaround time. It was necessary to come up with a method that would enable the construction of large scale side walls, leaving open only a center strip of 4.50 m to execute thereafter. It is considered the construction work with the largest cross section in Brazil.

ULMA Solution

One particularity of this construction job is that it did not require any openings for machinery to pass. For that reason, the option was made in favor of isolated towers, resulting in lower cost as compared to other metallic structures normally used. BRIO scaffolding was used for falseworks and scaffolding in the first concreting and the T-60 Falsework was used when a greater load was required.

COMAIN Vertical Formwork was used in response to the need for light panels that would adapt to the arch surface radius.
