Description
At 300 m of this project, there is a 200 m long and 2.5 m wide one-way bridge. This constraint led the Ecuadorian government to build a new bridge for traffic in both directions and with higher load-bearing capacity. This was intended to promote the development of this part of the region.
The new 590 m long cable-stayed bridge is divided into 7 spans. Its foundation consists of 174 piles of between 30 and 35 m depth. Each tower measures 80.5 m and includes 48 cables (24 per each side), whose function is to hold the steel deck with the concrete slab that makes up the superstructure.
ULMA solution
For the construction of the two towers, the superelevation beams, the intermediate piers and abutments, ENKOFORM HMK horizontal formwork, ENKOFORM VMK vertical formwork, push-pull props and climbing brackets were used.
The formwork systems chosen proved to be very versatile in the construction of the bridge, both for its speed and ease of erection. The assembled panels adapt effectively to the structure. This is how the required shape was obtained. The customer was fully satisfied with the performance and the technical service offered by ULMA.
