Description
This bridge is part of the Motorway S3, which will link the Baltic Sea with the Czech Republic. It is a long bridge with two independent carriageways built with the incremental launching method in 17 pre-stressed stretches of up to 45 m long.
ULMA solution
For the construction of the bottom, the wings and the slab of the viaduct, ENKOFORM HMK was used.
The box height in the centre is 3 m with a variable slab thickness ranging between 25 and 48 cm. The road runs at 14 m height with a constant curvature radius of 1,200 m.
Both structures were divided into 34 segments of up to 22.5 m which were then incrementally launched. Each carriageway reached nearly 15,000 tons of weight in the last stage of assembly.
The incremental launching method bases much work at one of the abutments, apart from reducing requirements for shoring solutions.
