The HC Bracket for bridges is used for building the flanges or central slabs of composite-structure bridges on site, whether they have metal or prefabricated concrete girders.
The system is formed of modular formwork and a number of auxiliary components which allow for it to be fixed to the bridge girders.
The fittings that fix the formwork to the girders may remain embedded in the concrete or may be recoverable, depending on the length and characteristics of the bridge.
Outer flange formwork:
- Bracket-type formwork mainly consisting of walers, push-pull props and beams.
- Walers can be joined to each other using different connectors.
- The correct angle between walers is achieved by adjusting the push-pull prop.
- The second waler rests on the girder by means of wooden beams (small loads) or by means of the HC Bracket Support (large loads).
Inner or central flange formwork:
- Formwork for building the flanges located between two girders.
- Simple formwork units consisting of two walers and beams.
- Safe system: assembly and dismantling is from above; no operations are carried out from below the formwork.
- Light system: the formwork components are not very heavy.
- Ease of use: no advanced qualifications are needed to use it.
- Fast assembly: most system components are joined to each other using pins. This allows reducing assembly times.
- Versatile system: it easily adapts to different geometries.
