Description
The aim of this project is to bring together the food offerings available into one large supply center that has the ability to provide for the various districts in Lima. This is how the Great Wholesale Market of Lima (GWML) came to be, which offers various services such as a shopping mall, health care, and a security service, among others.
In all, fifteen pavilions of various dimensions were executed. The wholesale pavilions, of 9,408 m2, are worth mentioning.
The C-type buildings have a length of 168 m and a width of 56 m, with room for 160 stands. The distance between columns is of 8 m, allowing a minimum grocery store width of 4 m, and a parking space for 2 trucks in front of them. The 10 m height of the pavilions, in the central area, facilitates the construction of space on the upper part of each stand. The 48 m wide streets have enough space for long trucks on both sides.
ULMA Solution
For the construction of the columns, ENKOFORM HMK formwork was used. It resulted to be an ideal system for constructing columns of a significant height, 7.2 m, 8.4 m and 10.4 m, and of a reduced section. Due to its qualities, the product guaranteed high execution efficiency and excellent fair-faced concrete finishes using self-compacting concrete. To increase the quality of the finish even more, small 20 x 20 cm windows were placed on the formwork at every 3 m height, in order to assist with the vibration and to obtain a product that the client was fully satisfied with.
The complete formwork of every column was lifted, divided into two "L's", using the E V-100 Lifting hook and a crane, carrying out the lifting process safely.
In order to perform the work of reinforcing, forming and stripping at height, BRIO scaffolding working platforms were assembled. This system guarantees the worker's and the user's safety at all times, besides allowing its movement using a crane, without being disassembled.
