Description
This project, prepared by the prestigious Madrid architects Fuensanta Nieto and Enrique Sobejano, obtained the first place in the contest organized by the Madrid City Council for its awarding. Known as "Racket City," it consists of 42,000 m2 exclusively for sports use. The center has a tennis court and a paddle court for competitions, as well as 19 tennis courts (10 covered and 9 open air), and 22 paddle courts (10 covered, 10 open air, and 2 glass). Additionally, it is equipped with other facilities and services such as a gym, swimming pools, playground areas, and parking. All of this makes the Montecarlo Sports Center a complete facility that is open to all citizens, located in one of the most modern neighborhoods of Madrid.
ULMA Solution
This sports center includes those elements that characterize the work of both architects clearly defined geometric shapes and very demanding finishes. For this reason, ULMA collaborated in this project, providing the quality of its products and the service of its professionals in all of the work phases.
The result of this project is a building with a structure that is entirely made of fair-faced concrete with an excellent finish. In order to fulfill the quality conditions, ORMA Modular Formwork was used in the vertical walls, which by using plywood as the shuttering face, guaranteed the concrete finish required by the client.
In the execution of the slabs RAPID and RECUB horizontal formwork were used, while ENKOFORM HMK Formwork was applied to the more complex surfaces, due to their geometry or thickness. The shoring system served as a base structure for the slab formwork.
Using the BRIO Multidirectional Scaffolding, stable working platforms were created that guaranteed workers access to the various walls with complete safety.
